Theologian brothers, happy Trinity Sunday. Let's all try to remember this is not a Sunday of lording our degrees and books over others - but to gather together in the humility of a mystery none of us can truly comprehend.
@TheDonStein I'd be interested in the data on the "market realities" here, e.g. congregation ability to pay, organist expectations, number of churches that have gone to "SOS" or other AI-ish "organists" due to shortage. Might be interesting (frightening?) to project for other church work
@MappingFL Hah. Did the dude in the middle really just say "So true, King?" I'm just going to imagine him saying "slay Queen..." What a bunch of morons, and I can say that apparently, 'cause I'm a dude.
My wife has a very different algorithm from mine. The difference in what we saw on each of our phones about the latest Milwaukee shooting is troubling. Regardless of political side, "news" should not differ this much.
If there is anything hopeful that I can say about our current age, it is that I'm looking forward to the revival of punk music that must surely be coming.
Lutherans are so committed to faith instead of works that they will have place lots of faith in the idea that right format of worship (either side) will bring people to Jesus rather than working to bring those people to Jesus in conversation and love. #snark
Me before Christmas Eve: These Santa and Elf-shelf things are just manipulative ploys to extort phony moral behavior out of children.
Also me, on Christmas Eve: Why, oh why, did we teach the kids the truth about Santa and the Elf?!?!?
