Here’s what I think happens over and over again. @azjustinheap and @SamThePol look at a proposal by the BOS, and it seems reasonable enough, so they agree. THEN, one or more of the many nut jobs they are beholden to—because that’s whose energy they harnessed to win office—throws a conniption about it because…who knows. Chemtrails? Whatever. So then Heap reneges on the deal and moves the goalposts to keep his kooks fed & appeased. That’s it in a paragraph.
Katz: The way we talk about what scandals are on television is fundamentally disconnected from the lives mainers are living. How is it not a scandal that Susan Collins is married to a lobbyist who while she was on the committee deciding what firms get money, gave $76 million to her husband, that she has voted to fund wars that have enriched her own stock portfolio. Susan Collins and her lobbyist husband seem like a scandal.
It looks like Justin Heap had a rough night. Reminder, it was Justin Heap who filed the lawsuit. It was Justin Heap who decided to waste taxpayer money by filing the lawsuit a month after shaking my hand on a Services Agreement. Filing the lawsuit hurt County taxpayers. (1/2)

I'm thankful the Appeals Court granted the Board's Stay request. Making major changes right before an election could have caused problems at the polls. I want honest, fair and smooth elections.
Breaking: Arizona appellate judges approve the Maricopa County Board of Supervisor’s request for a stay in the dispute over election duties enveloping Maricopa County.
Crazy how Operation Warp Speed was both good policy and a complete vindication of libertarian criticism of the administrative state inhibiting healthcare and basically no one wants to claim it as a victory for their coalition.
Closing statement from @andybiggs4az:
The question every Arizonan should ask themselves is if they’re better off under Katie Hobbs now than they were four years ago.

Whether or not Kamala Harris will run again for president is one of the big questions of this moment. For Vanity Fair’s Summer Issue, Ta-Nehisi Coates takes on other aspects of that question: Did her inaction on Gaza in 2024 contribute to her loss? And, if the American presidency is an inherently violent office, what does it mean for any Black woman to hold it?

Graham Platner and Darializa Chevalier represent a cancer within the Democratic Party. If we let this cancer grow, our party will become a party of hatred, intolerance, and anti-Americanism.
not trying to pick on this reporter who wrote a fair story but it's CRAZY how out of whack coverage of data centers is
"A data center is putting in 8 figure tax revenue and writing teachers $50k checks. Is it really enough?"
was there some other business that would do that?
