Humans are unpredictable, and all it would take is a slight misjudgment when turning or the shock of the train moving to cause an incident. Totally appreciate TOCs, espesh facing possible legal implications, will play it down as much as poss

@TrulyWheelyMe @Doug_Paulley @SteveWhiteRail Oh no, I’m not criticising Doug either, it’s interesting how other TOCs work. If I dispatched a train with Doug in that position I would be seeing my managers. I have attached from the rule book, it is quite clear to me that in the video Doug would block the train safety check

@TrulyWheelyMe @Doug_Paulley @SteveWhiteRail The train safety check though does mean you must ensure nobody is in contact, or could be in contact with the train as it departs though so still PTI clear. In the video Doug could have very easily moved an inch and then he’d be touching the train. That is not a safe dispatch.

@LeeRender @ChimeWhistle Leeds, Sheffield, Hull, Carlisle to name a few where there are sub 5 minute trains departing from the same platform. Knottingley and Nottingham being the worst as they sound similar.

@AnonSocials @railnigel If crew diagrams have been released then this would already be disclosed by nature of it being in black and white on the diagram, I do however doubt that crew diagrams have been released. I’m not going to get into it any further.

@AnonSocials @railnigel There is an instruction. Diagrams state to ‘secure unit’ (drivers) and ‘dispose’ (guards), sometimes even if the train is going back out 12 minutes later. A FOI request likely won’t provide that detail as it will be considered sensitive/security.

@JakeWrightUK i’ve found the ikea bulbs to not be as good longer term, and the colour/temperature reproduction just isn’t as good as with hue. they’re good for the price, and way more economical, but I use hue for the lights that I use daily because they tend to be that much better

@ABitOfPork @GarethDennis The comparison here would be the Shinkansen, which is more similarly priced to UK long distance services, such as LNER. However, you get a different level of service and speed for that.
