hi all i'm looking for jobs
my interests in nice legible format:
- build systems/CI
- compilers&adjacent tools
- devtools
- network infra
- "weird systems-y things" (databases, debuggers, misusing kernel APIs)
- teaching and mentoring
that said i'm open to most areas, happy to DM
2 minutes until the end of an extraordinarily hectic day and one of my kindergartners trudged up to me and said “I just want to be home eating cereal with a blanket” like from your mouth to God’s ears buddy
@princess_worms @towardstengen @HMWatson@oldenoughtosay i would describe his books as queer but not in the way that word is normally used
The Wasp Factory is actually significantly moreso imo, he kinda throws in the fact that people in the Culture can switch genders but it doesn’t happen in any story but Excession
@princess_worms @towardstengen @HMWatson@oldenoughtosay consider phelebas is kinda like the opening episode of black mirror in that it *does* fit thematically with the series but also it’s a *lot* and doesn’t give you a good idea of what the other stories will be like
unironically, take an interest in things. visit art galleries, hit up the library and discover-browse. read widely. learn new languages, new words. watch old films. the world is a wonderful place but the sense of wonder is a muscle that must be cultivated like any other.
@worm_jailer i am using all my manic energy to come up with programming bullshit ideas lmao
so uh, former i guess
anyway i had the idea that you can get 80% of the benefit of my spreadsheet language by writing a differ for excel files that integrates with git
@mycoliza The problem with infrastructure as code is that people stuff Turing-completeness into configuration languages instead of using actual programming languages
been thinking a lot the last couple months about pasts that can't ever be returned to. described the feeling as "an immutable loss of innocence, the curse of knowledge knowing that paradise can never be revisited because even if you went back it would feel flat and artificial"
