@KayleeNuez So am I! Obviously we can do better. I just wish that we can better ourselves and then help developing countries attain sustainability levels that benefit the planet as a whole!
@SalmaBoudlal I did not expect any of these countries to be up there! Very impressed with Norway, hopefully we can have close numbers for them in the near future
@GagneLafreniere SAY IT LOUDER FOR THE PEOPLE IN THE BACK. Snow in april and may gets climate change deniers so fired up to tell us that the earth is not warming
@KayleeNuez I second that. This course could open up individuals’ minds who are not so environmentally conscious. I do however think that this course can be potentially free but still a credited course if this does happen
@KayleeNuez I heard the news of this and was not surprised. We cannot afford more hurricanes. Nova Scotia survived a scare last year. Climate change has to be turned around the devastation of hurricanes are terrible
@KayleeNuez The simpsons’ take on nuclear power is to make us laugh. For example they have a 3 eyed fish as a mascot. This course actually changed my outlook on nuclear power. But yes the nuclear waste in the simpsons does look appetizing haha
So fun fact here. Nuclear waste is not actually green and does not glow either. Some radioactive material will give off a light colour. But the simpsons has lied to us #nuclearenergy#renewableenergy#lesson8
@KayleeNuez If you were to speak to anyone over the age of 40 who grew up in Montreal they always mention how warm our winters have gotten. Those -20 days with tons of snow were a regular occurence for them
Although we only really know of the Lac-Mégantic incident, the fact that there are roughly 400 incidents per year can be avoidable if the oil industry is phased out at a certain point #globaleffects#pollution#lesson10
This is why I know that trump loosened auto emission standards leading to big car companies and fuel companies being able to profit from this. Very interesting class altogether!
During Obama’s administration, he vowed to progressively lower auto emissions. 3 years ago trump loosened auto emission standards. Air pollution is mostly caused by the transportation industry. The effect of this will surely rise #airpollution#lesson10
A new tidal power project in the Bay of Fundy will have the goal of running by sometime this year. Hopefully it will not be very delayed. Ottawa has also commited $30 million for the project. https://t.co/ii2uPNx4cA #tidalpower
