I will paraphrase so people can better understand it, "those who fail to study history doom the rest of us to go through the same fucking shit over and over again". Pick up a goddamn book, read and learn. Fascism is not okay.
Do not listen to RFK Jr lies.
The last recorded death from red measles (commonly referred to simply as measles) in the United States before February 2025 occurred in 2015. This was when a 28-year-old woman named Catherine Montantes from Washington state died after contracting measles. She had been vaccinated but was immunocompromised due to an autoimmune disorder, which reduced the vaccine's effectiveness in her case.
Since today is February 26, 2025, that places the last measles death approximately 10 years ago, in 2015. However, it’s worth noting that on this very day, February 26, 2025, reports have emerged of a new measles death in Texas—the first in the U.S. since 2015. This new case involves an unvaccinated school-aged child in West Texas, part of an ongoing outbreak. Since your question asks about deaths *before* February 2025, the 2015 case remains the most recent prior instance, occurring a decade ago.
This is NOT COMMON DAMN IT.
I shake my head as people actually think DOGE has identified waste, fraud and abuse in 5 days. What they are doing is gutting programs they don't like according to Project 2025. They haven't done any analysis and don't even know the functions of the departments they are cutting.
People make it like Republicans are all the same when it comes to abortion. But there's actually a lively debate about whether to have local sherriffs departments handle menstrual surveillance or have a national registry as Trump's Project 2025 requires.
NYT investigation in 2018, based on Trump tax records: "Mr. Trump received the equivalent today of at least $413 million from his father’s real estate empire, starting when he was a toddler and continuing to this day." https://t.co/WrmrWmFYO4
Fact check: Murder decreased by 26.4%, and aggravated assault decreased by 12.5 percent.
Violent crime is DOWN in historic numbers. Don't let Trump fearmonger you.
@de_w8tam@Robbie_W1RCP Again I do not know what rules don’t make sense to you but they are likely there for some good reasons. If you want to explore any of them I can tell you what I know or think about a rule that does not make sense
@de_w8tam@Robbie_W1RCP Even POTA has a rule that it has to be from the park and ant from my house that is two miles from the state park. It would be easier for me to do it from my house with the big antennas that from the park. Boat races and car races have rules. Almost all games do. Seems normal
@de_w8tam@Robbie_W1RCP I am not sure what contests or rules you are complaining about but I do not think it is unreasonable for a given contest to have rules that govern the event in some ways. Some are more complex or have many categories that each have limits in some way. Like a QRP rule of 5w.
