In June, @NYPDSpecialops Emergency Service Unit K9 Det. Colecchia & his highly trained partner Russel assisted in the recovery of 3 guns and the arrest of the suspects. Russel is named after fallen NYPD Officer Russel Timoshenko, who was shot and killed on July 14, 2007.
Great job by ESU K9 Det. Colecchia & his partner Russel assisting in the recovery of 2 illegal guns. During a car search, Russel indicated the possible presence of a gun. During the investigation, it was determined the car was used to transport the recovered guns and ammunition.
Another gun off the streets. @NYPDSpecialops personnel continue their effort to keep NYC safe. This evening, ESU K9 Det. Colecchia & his partner Russel sniffed out this loaded revolver in an overgrown lot. The suspect had discarded the weapon prior to being arrested.
