@HMRCcustomers Hello, thanks for clarification. Confused because got letter saying that I owe HMRC over £1600, but the calculation was done on the full £26k. Personal allowance is stated as £0. I had no other income that year.

@HMRCcustomers In 2014-15, I earned £26k before tax. Please confirm that 20% rate is applied to this amount less the personal allowance of £10k for that year. Ie, 20% of £16k = £3200. Many thanks.
