@xwanyex@KelseyTuoc@DerekPederson3 reminder for whenever the cultural pendulum swings, and conservatives start seeming cool again:
just let those disgusting little freaks vocalize their disgusting little thoughts, and they’ll willingly shove the pendulum back the other way
@eigenrobot@VeloMontaigne the most functional people I know are out there being competent and joyful in a dazzling variety of ways
the most dysfunctional people I know are all in the same few buckets: neurotic, or depressed, or bipolar
function has more diversity than dysfunction
@kendrictonn I hope for the opposite: an explosion of wild new cinematic ideas iterating faster and faster in the selection pressure of the attention economy
@memeticsisyphus unamerican, bootlicking and cowardly
he was an american citizen with the god-given right to bear arms, filming the cops when they pepper-sprayed and then executed him in the street
@memeticsisyphus close. i think ICE hastily recruited a group of men who were attracted by the opportunity to wield violent force.
then armed and sent those men into encounters with American citizens.
it was a matter of time. now we have two americans shot in the streets. there will be more.
@IvanVendrov@wolftivy@elocinationn i took a few theology classes, and fwiw my theology professors believed that jesus physically levitated into heaven
it’s not all metaphor and principles to most people, and the true believers will die on the hill that their beliefs are literally true
@IvanVendrov@wolftivy@elocinationn i grew up religious and just want to note that the large majority of religious people disagree with this.
they think the stories are literally true, and they think that’s a load-bearing pillar of the faith.
give them some credit: they believe what they say they believe.
@KylerCora accidental book-nerd flex: mixing up sports metaphors (at-bats/shots on goal) because you don’t actually watch sports
a cousin of the classic “pronouncing words wrong because you’ve only ever read them”
