Most nuclear fuel is used once.
Fuel goes in, energy comes out, and ~95% of the energy remains unused.
Fuel recycling changes that. Material is recovered and reused to extract more energy and reduce what’s left to manage.
Using more of what we already have by recycling nuclear waste to recharge America.
UBS on NELP and $STDN:
"On 24-Aug-2026, the Department of Energy's (DOE) National Reactor Innovation Center (NRIC) announced 12 new participants under the Nuclear Launch Pad initiative, which aims to expand advanced nuclear deployments across the U.S. Key participants announced include Oklo (OKLO, Neutral), Antares Nuclear, and Valar Atomics. Radiant was also selected as an initial participant of the Launch Pad program on 27-Apr-2026.
• In our view, the project selections are indicative of continued demand momentum for microreactor installations and a positive for advanced nuclear development broadly.
We previously highlighted Radiant, Antares Nuclear and Valar Atomics as potential customers of Standard Nuclear (STDN, Buy). We continue to view STDN as a key beneficiary of increasing near-term demand for microreactors on military installations given the company's existing commercial tri-structural isotropic (TRISO) fuel fabrication capacity and rapid expansion plans."
INDIANA HAS ZERO OPERATING REACTORS. IN OCTOBER IT SEATS DOE, THE NRC, AND A GOVERNOR ACROSS FROM OKLO, X-ENERGY, AND BWXT.
GLOBAL NUCLEAR ENERGY ECONOMIC SUMMIT 2026
· Purdue Engineering and the State of Indiana convene the Global Nuclear Energy Economic Summit on October 19 and 20 at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis, moving the event off Purdue's campus, at $75 for Day 1 and $125 for both days, with the hotel block closing September 25.
· DOE Assistant Secretary for Nuclear Energy Theodore Garrish and NRC Commissioner David Wright share a Day 1 spotlight panel moderated by Indiana Secretary of Energy and Natural Resources Suzanne Jaworowski, and Governor Mike Braun closes the day with a fireside chat before the evening mixer.
· The Day 1 panels put Oklo CFO Craig Bealmear and X-energy's Ben Reinke on deployment, then Abbey Donahue, chief engineer for the BWXT Advanced Nuclear Reactor, alongside First American Nuclear and EPRI on the fuel panel.
· Day 2 runs workforce and financing panels in the morning, then converts after lunch to a Strategic Doing workshop on Indiana's nuclear cluster strategy, four working groups turning 2030 strategic outcomes into pathfinder projects, and report-outs with action planning.
The framing is commercial rather than educational, built around deal strategy and the transactions needed for near-term deployment. Pricing a room that holds DOE, the NRC, and three listed reactor names at $75 looks like a deliberate move to fill it with people who sign things rather than people who study them. The Day 2 afternoon is the part worth watching, since working group assignments outlive the panels.
Which shows up first in Indiana, a selected site or a signed offtake?

🚨COMING SOON: NUCLEAR-POWERED CARGO SHIPS 🚨
@USDOT is working to fast-track construction of a new fleet of vessels to change the game and DOMINATE China
THAT MEANS:
📦 MORE CARGO (no internal fuel tanks)
🚢 FASTER SHIPS (up to 75% faster crossings)
🌐 ZERO EMISSIONS (20 years of continuous power without refueling)
The first NUCLEAR-POWERED vessel is set to be built in 2028 🇺🇸
Terafab will need 2-3 GW of power by 2033.
It just so happens Aalo is building a 1M sqft nuclear reactor factory within 100 miles, which is aiming to reach 1 GW / yr of hardware output by the end of 2030.
Kaleidos has left the building!
Our transportable microreactor is on its way to @INL's DOME facility, where it will begin full-scale testing.
Over the coming months, we'll validate commercial performance through a full-scale, full-power extended-duration testing program that progresses in 5 phases:
-Install and fuel Kaleidos
-Reach zero-power criticality
-Sustain 1MW thermal operation
-Full-temperature and full-power operation
-150-hours continuous operation
In 2020, our CEO @DougBernauer said we’d have a reactor at the DOME in 2026 - and we will!
Simple tracker for underway projects in the RPP and NELP. Five reactors critical so far, they’ve now moved on to design iteration and heat/electricity production.
The nuclear renaissance has barely taken its first steps. There is so much more to come 🤘
American national security cannot depend on foreign-controlled supply chains.
Today, President Trump announced nearly $2 billion across three new Office of Strategic Capital (OSC) deals to secure the critical materials and components that strengthen the American industrial base and deliver more lethal technologies for the warfighter.
In Fiscal Year 2026, OSC has already committed more than $8 billion in debt financing and mobilized nearly $18 billion in total public and private capital to companies across the critical minerals and materials sector, with no intention of slowing down.
Someone found an insane Easter Egg in the Terafab video that SpaceX released earlier today. Elon appears to have confirmed that the circle is a particle accelerator that will be used for Free Electron Laser lithography.
Reminder that if you're not on X, you're missing out on everything that's happening.
FEL lithography is an alternative way of generating extreme ultraviolet (EUV) light for advanced semiconductor manufacturing. Basically, SpaceX is going to eat ASML's lunch.

TENNESSEE JUST PUT NUCLEAR CAREERS INSIDE THE HIGH SCHOOL CREDENTIAL SYSTEM
NUCLEAR WORKFORCE PIPELINE
· SCORE is investing $725,000 across nine new education-to-career partnerships in Tennessee, and two of the nine are built specifically around the nuclear energy sector.
· Battelle and the Tennessee STEM Innovation Network are launching a Nuclear Leadership Pathway with Knox County Schools, Roane State Community College, TVA, and UT Knoxville, using a stackable credential sequence that leads to an Associate of Applied Science in Nuclear Technology earned concurrently with or shortly after high school.
· Oak Ridge Associated Universities, with Roane State, Tennessee Tech, Oak Ridge National Laboratory, and Strata-G LLC, is debuting a 2+2 pathway that carries students from an applied associate degree to a bachelor's in project management and project controls, with a paid nuclear sector internship for college credit.
OE READ: The binding constraint on the nuclear buildout is starting to look like people rather than permits or capital, and Tennessee is answering at the credential layer instead of the graduate degree layer. The second award is worth watching closely because it trains project management and project controls, not engineering, and cost and schedule performance is where the last generation of US nuclear construction actually failed.
Who fills the control room and the trailer in 2032, and where are they in school right now?
BREAKING: Atomarine has launched out of Y Combinator. The startup is looking to develop nuclear-powered data centers that sit on large-scale barges offshore.
Its first gas-powered data center is set to deploy in 2028. Atomarine has secured early partnerships with offshore barge builders and multiple SMR developers, with the systems designed to operate fully off-grid.
Seems like there is some new AI + nuclear federal program that is just hitting the wire from Bloomberg, still haven't seen the source article, though.
Potentially involves $OKLO, $XE, $MSFT, and $NVDA
Best I found so far is what looks to be an AI-generated summary, copy and pasted below:
"Investing -- Oklo Inc. (NYSE:OKLO) shares rose 8% in after-hours trading Tuesday, while X-Energy Inc. (NASDAQ:XE) climbed 12% following a Bloomberg report that both companies are joining a Trump administration program to accelerate nuclear reactor development for artificial intelligence data centers.
The $200 million initiative, which also includes Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ:MSFT) and Nvidia Corp. (NASDAQ:NVDA), aims to speed the development of new power plants to support AI infrastructure, according to a document seen by Bloomberg News.
Details of the program could be announced as soon as Wednesday at an AI energy summit convened by the U.S. Department of Energy. According to the document, several of the department’s national laboratories and institutions such as the University of Texas at Austin are slated to share $60 million over a three-year period.
The initiative seeks to address concerns that the rapid proliferation of data centers needed for the AI boom has caused electricity prices to spike nationwide. Silicon Valley companies including Nvidia and OpenAI have identified limits on energy supply as a key obstacle to expanding AI adoption in the U.S. and staying ahead of China in the global race to dominate the emerging technology."
THE NRC'S BIGGEST LICENSING REWRITE IN A GENERATION JUST DROPPED: A PATH TO 100-YEAR REACTOR LIFETIMES AND CONSTRUCTION THAT BEGINS THE DAY AN APPLICATION IS DOCKETED
MODERNIZING REACTOR LICENSING, SAFETY OVERSIGHT, AND SITING PRACTICES
· The proposed rule, driven by Executive Order 14300, amends 10 CFR Parts 2, 50, 51, 52, 53, 54, 71, and 100, touching construction, design changes, siting, emergency preparedness, quality assurance, license renewal, and decommissioning funding in a single package.
· A new general license would authorize construction of most of a plant, everything except the reactor vessel, reactor coolant system, and associated reactivity control and heat removal systems, as soon as an application is docketed, but only for designs the NRC has granted generic finality after they were built and operated under NRC oversight.
· The maximum license renewal term would double from 20 to 40 years, meaning reactors now in their first renewal period could apply to reach 100 years of total operation, and plants already approved for subsequent renewal could reach 120.
· Part 100 siting rules would keep the NRC's longstanding preference for low population density, but allow reactors in denser areas when justified by an assessment comparing societal risks against societal benefits.
OE READ: The general license provision rewires nth-of-a-kind economics. It is unavailable to paper designs; the durable advantage goes to whoever is first to build and operate a unit, not first to file.
Which design crosses the generic finality threshold first?
BREAKING: @valaratomics has begun a loss-of-forced-cooling test on its Ward 250 nuclear reactor, shutting off all powered cooling and simulating a total electrical failure.
The plant has been fully de-energized, and all electrical systems are offline. Valar will monitor the reactor over the next several days as it relies solely on passive systems to remove decay heat, testing one of the most critical failure modes in nuclear power.
