@CostaKapo@bot Underrated observation, totally agree. Cognitive burden sharing generates a kind of momentum that's hard to get other people to understand/appreciate the signficance of.
@SteveDesroches The single Friday had similar numbers to 2022 when the vote was split across two days. I think some people are just early voters and it doesn't relate to sentiment.
A second voter info card would go further. By late October people have lost the one they got in September.
Grocery stores make about $1 in profit for every $30 of goods sold. So if this person walked out carrying about $75 in groceries, that instantly erases the profit from $2250 in sales. Something to consider as you complain about grocery prices.
The Corps website says authorized partners are the bodies who summon volunteers from the database - so you need to decide which of them were involved and decided not to use the Corps. The list leans heavily toward builders after the fact, but St John Ambulance and Salvation Army are on there.

@bpellerin The responsibilities of Ontario Corps volunteers are like, handing out coffee and greeting people at shelters. They aren't Marines. Is it any surpise the province wasn't willing to send them into sewage?
Also, please stop relying on Claude for your writing. It is so obvious.
@dig_with_kyle My neighbour called the city because a vine breached his fence. The city didn't do anything so he called the province.
He's useless in defence of his own yard.
@SjamieIt@_MarkSutcliffe They're different materials laid at different times. If you want everyrhing to match we can either
1. leave the potholes
2. redo the entire street every time a pothole forms, or
3. Go for the middle ground and patch the potholes with asphalt.
@Williamoforang9 Earlier in the summer, Devine and Johnson also spoke about the "need to have an honest conversation about taxes."
Well, now's the time, and neither will get the ball rolling on the honesty.
@PantusoSilvio@_MarkSutcliffe Ottawa increased its infrastructure spending last year by 40% without a new tax or levy.
It's not only possible, we're doing it right now.
@bpellerin So DRAO doesn't require a request, isn't time-sensitive because it comes *after* insurance, and Sutcliffe called Ford on July 2nd and 3rd anyway.
What's the issue?
