Tamil Cinema - this Re-Release trend has gone overboard and a golden goose is getting killed overnight by bringing out too many old films each week, creating fatigue among audiences and affecting many small budget films at box office.

Producers and Distributors of such successful films must space out and bring out Re-Releases only when there’s a gap or opportunity and not every week.

Enough of Re-Releases and time to support new films please 🙏

There was once a proposal within the Producers Council to regulate film releases. Why didn’t that plan materialize ?

Unless the entire industry boards comes together, sits across the table, and reaches a meaningful consensus, we do not have a healthy future …

The process must be consistent until we achieve the desired outcome …

@junaid_althaf @VettriTheatres And coming to the movies that you mentioned - Soorarai potru and Jai bhim. These two won't be screened cuz, films produced by 2D ent. was boycotted by TN Theatre Owners Association until Viruman.

@junaid_althaf @VettriTheatres You said it right. OTT are for private viewing purposes. So, if those content are screened in public spaces(theatres) it has to go thru the censor for cert. 1/2
