@vol_uh_tile I have been where you are and it is the most difficult decision one can possibly make. When it happens it brings a moment of peace and relief, you get a chance to understand what happened and then gradually you will have to deal with the loss but not with the decision Take heart
@DOckendenLtd@DOckendenLtd I am happy to have a chat this year is mission impossible delivering most of the recommendations as the ICB banks are empty and we are left with millions of pounds in deficit that we need to deliver as CIPS the new financial year.
@BBCPanorama In that year, have the producers also tried to speak to the Trust leads rather than trying to get midwives to whistlblow to create sensationalism? Have you considered the medical staffing problems are also part of the problem, midwives don't work in cilo.
@BBCPanorama@BBCOne@BBCiPlayer 3/ Second, is the lack of funding for maternity services. Maternity leads have a hard task at hand in securing funding to increase staffing levels, training, equipment and safe IT systems. Stop midwife bashing and deal with the real issues
@BBCPanorama@BBCOne@BBCiPlayer 2/There are two major factors stopping good care. Firstly, the abolition of Midwifery Supervision in 2017. The decision to abolish statutory Supervision has now led to a lack of investigation processes nationally into practice, following incidents.
@BBCPanorama@BBCOne@BBCiPlayer 1/This was a misguided programme that aimed to confuse the public by linking poor care to practice issues, which is separate from staffing issues that cause delays in care. The programme can not cover in half hour systemic issues in the majority of maternity units.
@Dr_BellaR @Gsep_ And at a senior level we are Directors of Maternity services, unlike in Paediatrics, Surgery and Medicine where the Clinical Directors and Operational Directors hold the reins of their respective services .
The MIS programme is well overdue for an evaluation of its effectiveness, or perhaps for the evaluation of the programme to become public. When everyone discusses maternity services needing a redesign, the regulatory and support mechanisms require also a policy overhaul.
Improving #maternity care is a priority for families who use maternity services and staff who work in them.
A fresh approach to regulation and improvement is needed for maternity services in England, argue @marydixonwoods and colleagues
