I think journalists and writers, though often separated by personal beliefs and opinions, can all come together under one beautiful moment and put differences aside to join together as one.
That moment is being on Twitter during a big thunderstorm.
How do you solve a problem?
How do you solve a problem rooted in a century or more of misunderstanding, bad science, and human ego?

I got my physical copy of @LJReview in the mail today! 🎉 I'm so proud to be able to hold something that my classmates and I worked tirelessly on throughout this last semester, entirely from home!
Thank you so much to all those who took the time to speak with us for our stories!
NEW - It is now officially, official. British Columbia has provided at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine to more than 50 per cent of the eligible adult population. #bcpoli
For my final semester as a j-school student, I had the opportunity to write a feature on @j_mcelroy for our student magazine @LJReview! Thank you so much Justin and everyone else who took time out of their very busy schedules to chat!

So excited to share my first byline in this month's edition of @MegaphoneMag. I was lucky enough to write the cover story of about the gentrification of the Joyce street neighbourhood, as well as a piece on anti-Asian hate crimes. Click the link in my bio to check it out!
In my civics class last semester I specifically asked to have the New West beat because of how special the city and the people in it are. I can't really put into words how heartbreaking this is.
As someone who spent most of her life growing up in the Burnaby/New West area I think I speak for everyone when I say how absolutely devastating the pier park fire is. The entirety of that area holds so many memories for people.
Enjoying this year's #mamurray2020 awards from home! I'm incredibly grateful to be one of the recipients of this year's Community Journalism Scholarships and representing the fantastic @LangaraJSchool
People were also sharing their stories about how this pandemic has affected them. Missing work, kids sporting events cancelled, worries for the future. It's oddly comforting to know that no matter how scary this is-or will get, the rest of the world is going through it with you.
With all the awful news happening right now, I've found that one of the positives is the sense of camaraderie among strangers. For example, I work in retail and yesterday customers replaced "have a good day!" with "stay safe out there!"
The Kristian of 10 minutes ago was nerding out at finding this copy of @NatGeo from 1988, until I realized it was warning readers about climate change... the Kristian of now is in full on existential mode https://t.co/pbUSjwQ1AC
Today, my first story in the @LangaraVoice was published! Give it a read to get an idea of the College's policies regarding the novel #coronavirus. Thanks to @k_trevena & @FroudJessica

First time attending a city council meeting this evening, courtesy of @blinkwriter 's civics class.
Fascinating to see how big city issues are affecting people on a human level.
