I was a serious maize farmer. The highest I have ever done is 12 acres, until I realized it was cheaper buying maize when others harvest than farming. Many trucks that ferry maize from Bungoma are for our Kikuyu friends who don't farm the same. Now a 90kg is Ksh 4,000, a drop from Ksh 9,800 because people are harvesting. By January, the price will be back up.
