How did you think prices of House Rent increased so sharply in Nigeria?

It is majorly about the greed of our countrymen. Jobless people who created jobs for themselves through 'Agency" work, due to the poor regulation of that sector, which is supposed to be handled by only trained and registered Valuers, approached landlords to give them free hands to bring in tenants. They approached fraudsters who were ready to pay any amount, usually inexperienced young boys with money they never worked legitimately, with time, for, to rent those houses. They put it higher than the actual value of the rents based on facilities in the property and also used that mechanism to extort percentages of their agency fee. Since it looked attractive to the landlords, they let it stay. Landlords don't have access to Fraudsters, it is agents and some Lawyers who are approached that bring them in. When they inflate these rents and the fraudster goes broke, he leaves. They won't decrease and legitimate workers who are desperate because of housing deficit would have to cough out what they don't earn to pay rents.

When people set their ring lights and keypads to talk about the contours of their private lives online and all the dirty things that befell them, what exactly goes through their minds?

Is it that if people know, they'll feel better or they just enjoy being hailed or condemned?

Make a commitment to yourself: never give up on who you are or who you’re capable of becoming. Even on the days you question your strength, remember how much you’ve already survived just to stand where you are now.
