At Kabale University, we celebrated the success of our partnership today by launching the MTN Spark hub. This is the result of a partnership between the Ugandan Government through the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology @MoICT_Ug, @CenteTech of the Centenary Group, and @MTNUG. Specifically, the regional hub will support youth and innovators at @kabuniversity & Kigezi at large. This hub is equipped with 80 computers and will provide free internet access, as well as a variety of programs designed to help individuals achieve their personal goals. The Permanent Secretary Ministry of ICT @azawedde presided over the launch. Prof @WilliamBazeyo represented the MTN trustees, @PKahiigi the Chief Technology Officer for Cente Technologies, and Prof Joy Kwesiga @jckwesiga led the @kabuniversity team. The Kabale District Khadi, Sheikh Kabu Lule, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Joy C. Kwesiga at Kabale University. Our Head of the Department of Anaesthesia, Dr. @isabellaepiu, has been awarded the - Africa Society of Regional Anaesthesia (AFSRA) Diamond Prize for her special role in advancing regional anesthesia across the continent of Africa. The award was presented to her at the 13th conference of the AFSRA, which was held in Constantine, Algeria.
