The Saudis devastated the Yemeni state without any justification. Killed & maimed thousands, destroyed Yemen’s social & economic infrastructure. Its now paying the price for its criminal actions. Its petrodollar-driven foreign policy can no longer remain relevant in the region.

Somaliland’s political, historical, and legal case for recognition meets a threshold that no other territory in Africa - not even Eritrea and South Sudan - could attain. You May have other legitimate arguments against its recognition, but this is not one of them. #Somaliland

As the President of the Republic of Somaliland undertakes a historic working visit to Washington, D.C., let us stand together in the spirit of our national unity, dignity, and shared purpose, supporting our country’s national efforts and safeguarding the sovereignty, independence, and existence of the Republic of Somaliland.
Today, more than ever, our nation calls for one voice, one vision, and one united people.
Our nationhood is not the possession of any government or political group; it is a shared heritage, a sacred collective responsibility, and a legacy we carry together.

The latest issue of Laas Geel Review (Volume 2, Number 1), available both in print and online at https://t.co/1uEnkjq5oL, features six substantive articles that examine critical issues related to Somaliland and the wider Horn of Africa region. The contributions cover a diverse range of topics: assessing health communication strategies to reduce maternal and child mortality in rural Hargeisa; exploring diaspora diplomacy in Somaliland with a focus on strategy, agency, and recognition challenges; presenting the legal case for Somaliland statehood from the perspective of a failed union to restored sovereignty; analyzing the intersection of maritime competition and the recognition–security nexus; evaluating Ethiopia’s dam diplomacy and its impact on the reconfiguration of Nile Basin power relations; and investigating crisis leadership decision-making patterns in multi-agency security management, drawing on a Kenyan case of civil disobedience.
President @Abdirahmanirro has appointed Ambassador Sharmarke Geelle as Somaliland’s new Ambassador to #Ethiopia, with Mohamed Galool serving as Deputy Ambassador.
