@s765201618 so let me get this straight, you think lesbians should no longer have any identity terms or symbols bc bi women need to be able to express lifestyle with them rather than coining their own. and disagreeing is disrespecting bi women, but ur not disrespecting lesbians?
i fucking hate all this discourse and i Do think it's more nuanced but it does baffle me that my whole teen years was spent seeing "bisexuality is not half gay half straight" advocacy, only for that to be tossed out in favor of "we actually can identify as half gay if we want"
@s765201618 why do you think cultural identity is defined around lifestyle rather than....identity? I'm butch even when I'm not dating a femme. I'm lesbian even when I'm single. our symbols and flagging are about identity, not current partners
bc no amount of childishly demanding that you be "allowed" to do use certain words or symbols means anyone is actually stopping you. but you won't sway the common perception of them away from lesbian signalling bc that's what they are. you should love yourself better than that
nobody can or will stop you from using whatever terms and symbols you want. being policed isn't real. what Will happen is people will assume you are a lesbian if you use things that signal as lesbian, and that's either your goal or something you'll get mad at. neither is healthy
i keep thinking about the way steve would get OBSESSED with eddie's pussy...like okay he usually gets super fixated on his partner that's normal, and he also really really likes sex, so that's normal...but eddie feels different. he IS different. in the best fucking way possible
all of it is nothing to what eddie makes him feel. how crazy eddie makes him. the sheer space eddie occupies in his mind—and steve wouldn't have it any other way.

like a fever, notching up higher every time he sees eddie, touches him, makes him scream and shake and see god. like a delirium filling up his head until he can't think about anything else at all.
steve thought he knew what it was to be obsessed before, to be in love before.
