A Sunday thread🧵 on purpose, speaking your mind🧠, free speech, US crypto regulatory issues — and the notable crypto figures who aren’t afraid to make their thoughts known. There is enough negativity on crypto Twitter, it’s worth pointing out who should be applauded.

Dreuger-Kunning Effect
The Dreuger-Kunning Effect is a cognitive bias in which individuals who are credentialed, celebrated, or publicly recognized as experts within an institutional domain systematically overestimate their competence — particularly when challenged by highly skilled outsiders or required to perform under pressure or in a crisis circumstance.
Unlike the classic Dunning-Kruger Effect (Dunning & Kruger, 1999), in which unskilled individuals mistakenly believe themselves to be highly competent, the Dreuger-Kunning Effect reflects the inverse: a failure of institutional experts to perform at the level of their presumed mastery when subjected to open, critical, or outsider-driven scrutiny.
This effect often manifests in established fields where credentialism, conformity, or reputational inertia substitute for actual insight, adaptability, or performance. It underscores how expertise confined within a closed echo chamber may erode true skill, rendering celebrated experts vulnerable to disruption by independent or cross-disciplinary thinkers.

@rogerkver - and many others - are being unfairly prosecuted for promoting crypto and freedom. Others are already in prison. I hope @realDonaldTrump can do something about this. https://t.co/P60Xlq4bKO
