Physics my loves 🤭, Physics:
The core physics concept at work here is catenary arch geometry, combined with compressive force distribution.
An eggshell is essentially a three-dimensional dome. When force is applied along its vertical axis—from tip to tip—the curved shape diverts the downward load sideways and downward along the shell walls. Because the material (calcium carbonate) is exceptionally strong when squeezed together under compression, the particles tightly lock into one another.
As long as the pressure is applied straight down the center line (perpendicularly), the shell acts like a stone arch supporting a massive bridge, preventing any localized point from fracturing under the load.
To understand why someone can stand on a full crate of eggs without breaking them, you simply add force division into the mix. Standing upright creates a straight downward force due to gravity. Because the eggs are set upright in the crate, every egg acts as an individual structural pillar that pushes straight back upward (exerting what physics calls a normal force).
Your total body weight is divided equally among dozens of eggs. For instance, a 70 kg( I'm guessing the guy in the video is around that), person standing on a crate of 30 vertically aligned eggs reduces the load on each egg to under 2.5 kg—a fraction of the vertical weight an egg's dome structure is built to hold.
As long as your weight is balanced flat across the crate, none of the eggs crack.
Another cool trick to try is to put an egg between your palms and press really hard, make sure that the pointing ends are touching both palms, provided the force is applied completely evenly along the vertical axis, it won't crack.
@thomashobohm Something I realised very recently also is people ghost or give bullshit reasons instead of saying they’re not interested because they try and avoid burning bridges they might need to use to their advantage later. It’s like they may need to use you later so they don’t lock out.
This euphoria season penultimate was the best episode of season 3 sha. Kept me on edge. Love how it’s all coming together. Naz was doing too much; like, it’s never that serious please. That finale would be awesome.
Once this my sunscreen finish bayi, it's to be reciting Psalm 121:6 "The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night" anytime I'm about to step out of my house.
