"What a beautiful bird!" exclaimed our guest from behind binoculars.
"Where?" was the next question, from me.
"There" was the reply.
They got this photo of a magnificent Giant Kingfisher.
Did you know that they line their nests with crab carapaces and fish bones before nesting?
Traffic congestion and road rage takes on a different meaning on Kaingo! Reverse gear comes in very handy when the safari vehicle seemingly heads up the wrong way in a one way bush path – or at least that is the assumption as 50 buffalo hastily make their way towards the vehicle.
Young animals of all species tend to have more fun than their older counterparts. These two for example. Young males, training for the day that they're in line to face off against a strong opponent for domination of a herd of females. For now though, fun is the name of the game!

The Kaingo potholes is a favourite stop on a game drive. Over millennia the rushing waters of the Mokolo river have formed the most amazing rock features. Some rocks have massive holes carved in them, big enough for a friendly Kaingo guide to stand in! #KaingoExperience

Kaingo is home to the rare and very secretive African Finfoot. Even experienced ornithologists see them very rarely, making them a prized sighting for birders and twitchers. As they are so elusive, it is not known if they spend most of their time in the water, or on land.
#KaingoFact: At Kaingo, the finfoots are seen regularly along the Mokolo river during a game drive or on our river cruises. The finfoot feeds on aquatic invertebrates, including both adults and larval mayflies, dragonflies, crustaceans, also snails, fish and amphibians.
