Indeed, did you know that Queen Isabella of England also married at the age of eight?

These documented historical facts shock the modern mind, which secularists are trying to manipulate today to attack the marriage of Aisha (may God be pleased with her) to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when she was nine years old.

What is both ironic and astonishing is the exploitation by the so-called "Enlightenment" movement of the Epstein scandal and its revelations of the abhorrent exploitation of minors, in an attempt to link it to this noble prophetic marriage.

This connection reflects ignorance of history and a distortion of reality. While the Epstein scandal represents a moral decline within a system that permits illicit relationships and the exploitation of the naked body without rights, Aisha's marriage was a social and legal system that guaranteed women their full rights and status.

Western history, which some consider a benchmark of progress, is replete with examples of child marriage that were not condemned at the time:

1. In the 11th century: Urraca, Queen of Castile and León, married at the age of 8.

2. In the 12th century: Philip Augustus II of France married Isabella when she was 10.

3. Joanna, Queen of Sicily, married William II at the age of 11.

4. In the 13th century: Queen Hagen married Philip IV of France at the age of 11.

Even in literature, we find Juliet, the heroine of Romeo and Juliet, was 13 or 14 years old. Her mother tells her in the play that there are women in Verona younger than her who have become mothers.

The glaring contradiction lies in the secularists' disregard for Western laws. In the American state of Delaware, the age of consensual sex was seven until 1885, and in English law, it remained ten for three centuries.

Even in France, the Napoleonic Code stipulated eleven years.

Today, Western countries permit consensual sex at the ages of 13 and 14, yet they attack legal marriage, which places full responsibility on the man.

In conclusion, the aim of these campaigns is to undermine the credibility of the Sunnah. In Islam, puberty signifies accountability before God, and one who is accountable to the Creator for their actions cannot be described as a child.

Historical reality proves that Aisha's marriage at the age of nine was perfectly natural in a desert environment where human development is early. Even the Prophet's enemies at the time did not deny it because they understood the customs of their era, unlike today's so-called enlightened thinkers who view the past through the biased lens of the present.
