@nyamadon You'll need to look at the school's rules and regulations that were provided to the students upon admission in order to determine what the school can and cannot do
I do not condone mob justice.
But the brutality with which Ugandans treat a phone/bag snatcher, contrasted with the deference shown to state officials accused of stealing billions in public funds, reflects misdirected frustration and a troubling culture of selective impunity.
🚨 Historical decision by Union Berlin as German club appoint Marie-Louise Eta as their head coach until June.
Union lost at Heidenheim, sacked the head coach Steffen Baumgart and put Marie-Louise Eta in charge until the end of the season.
Ets becomes the first female head coach in the history of men’s Bundesliga.

You’re missing the point.
When we speak about the commercialization of politics (at the hill), we are not referring to the ordinary, legitimate campaign costs such as tags, posters, branding, or even media visibility. Those are expected and, to a large extent, unavoidable

"Ensconced in the bottom of this electronic missive, lies information compressed in the deceptively small body of an icon. There, dear reader, you will find the treasures I speak of."
@Lawpointuganda It cannot hold legally if it doesn't meet the form or material validity requirements as required by law, e.g signature, witnesses, capacity etc
DON'T EVER MAKE THIS MISTAKE AS A LAW STUDENT OR A BUDDING LAWYER.
To law undergraduates who are still in school and recent law graduates awaiting law school: The world of law is much broader than whatever is being taught in our universities.
During my undergraduate days, I chased grades—I always wanted to get an A in Law of Contract, Criminal Law, Principles of Equity and Trusts, Law of Evidence, Jurisprudence, Company Law, inter alia. To be honest, I was less concerned about anything else.
I was interested in litigation, moot, and mock proceedings; I was fascinated by the four walls of the court. By the end of my 400 level, I was already acquainted with the Law of Evidence. I understood almost everything that happened in the courtroom, except for the procedures rooted in the Rules of Procedure.
These attitudes were great; however, I made a mistake: I was caught up in the danger of a one-sided story. I forgot that the world was evolving, and that these courses were only foundational. Litigation is jurisdictional, and to become a 21st-century lawyer, one must be aware of emerging areas of law that can make you an international figure, regardless of being Nigerian.
Just like the cliche"Whenever you wake up is your morning."
Upon graduating from the university, I read an article distinguishing between a lawyer focused only on foundational areas of law and one immersed in global best practices. For the former, such a lawyer is restricted to being a jurisdictional lawyer, confined within Nigeria’s borders. For the latter, it brings international recognition and a seat at the global table—without the need for certification in another country.
There are emerging areas of law that can transform you into an international and distinguished lawyer, such as Mergers and Acquisitions, Investor-State Arbitration, Energy Law (a constantly innovative field), Employment Law vis-à-vis the new world of work, Taxation (due to legislative changes), Intellectual Property, Patent Drafting, Immigration Law, the digitalization of the capital market, Regulatory and Compliance for Blockchain, inter alia.
Every law student should pay attention to these emerging areas because society is always evolving and the law evolves to keep up. Law students and graduates should be aware of these changes and seek knowledge in these areas.
I still love litigation: I still want to become a Senior Advocate of Nigeria before the age of 40 😂, and I believe it is the bedrock of the law. Advocacy is a necessity; however, it should never be focused on in isolation. Law is a spectrum, and a lawyer should be flexible and knowledgeable in every area of the law.
