Man was given so little land for his birth and so much for his death.
I'll sail the seven seas and stand at the edge of the earth. I'll bring the clouds together and take the world by storm.
The problem is not just inaccess but control. We are living in a dystopian future, one way worse than Ray Bradbury could imagine. Books have been exchanged for screens, words for voice overs, knowledge for slop and intellectuals for idiots.
We have outsourced thought to LLM's
It started with neglect of libraries then increase in price of books and publishing, shutting down digital archives, putting everything behind paywalls to the point of sheer inaccessibility.
Information is now a commodity and will be the next billon $ industry. Scary times.

@Nsukka_okpa To go get the medals, in the process some got injured and misplaced valuables. I blame the organizers for poor planning and coordination but participants should also take their own quota of the blame cause if they had behaved orderly or seen a piece of copper for what it is.
@Nsukka_okpa Entirely, they didn't wait at all, before jumping to the front, this is when the pushing and throwing started, some of us on the line saw the chaos and decided it wasn't worth it, it's just a medal (which it is) and left. While leaving we saw people still jumping headfirst/2
@atanda_le@JoeyAkan Yeah
On my way to the starting line, I saw many people walking away from the venue, apparently they were given themselves a head start and got mixed up with the first batch of people to cross the line.
@j0hn0nah@Delly_Manna Started pushing forward, hence the chaos. I and a few others saw it and decided it wasn't worth and stepped out, I finished and that knowledge is sufficient for me. I don't need a medal to prove it but some people still coming from behind saw the chaos and still joined in.
@j0hn0nah@Delly_Manna And this is what I was reiterating yesterday and they called me a mad man. Anyone caught in the stampede was among the instigators. I finished the race early enough and stood in line to get mine but the distribution was slow hence people started trooping in, they skipped the line
