@trogsrus2 After suffering such severe hypoxia-related brain damage and being in a coma for years, she wouldn't wake up, sorry. If she did, she'd just be a human shell with absolutely minimal functioning. And you aren't aware of anything when you're in a coma. It's not like being asleep.
@Classicbritcom Legend. His ‘Talking Heads’ made my A-Level Eng Lit all the more fun,& I owe my grade A to Alan’s incisive &brilliant writing. The characters still feel real 26yrs after the exams! Lady of Letters, Chip in the Sugar, etc, feel so very human.
@WowGrape90791@missmcollins I must admit, though, that linking the Knights to the Beales was a genius move. Whilst characters from the ‘80s/‘90s reeled from seeing a ‘dead’ woman rock up in the Vic, a brand-new 2023 character greeted her with a shocked, “Mum??!” That scene still gives me goosebumps!
@WowGrape90791@missmcollins Yes, the reunion with Peter must have been as difficult as the one with Gina&Anna,&that one gave us some really emotional moments. We knew the girls’ initial rejection &hostility was to create a greater impact later on when they made it up&came together,&it was beautiful!
@engteachervng@bbceastenders Yep, I forgot about that. Something like €36k for the couple plus at least the IPREM per child, isn’t it? Madness. Unless you’re CEO of CaixaBank or a politician, you’ll basically never meet the minimum to live here. And nobody even needs that amount to live here!
@colinsalmon24 George is the kind of great big softie you really feel you can lean on &he worships his little girls. I’m uncomfortable with this element of ‘acceptable chauvinism’ inserted into his otherwise brilliant,likeable&humanly-flawed character.
@colinsalmon24 Also, George said Gina at 13 ‘had to’ be mum to Anna&ref’d to this as ‘her responsibilities’. It was GEORGE’S responsibility&Gina DIDN’T ‘have to’ step up. But female characters are expected to hold it together for their kids no matter what. Not risk their lives in fights.
@missmcollins Elaine is VERY insecure, isn’t she?! I do love her frenemyship with Cindy. I’d like to see it lean more towards the ‘fren’&less towards the ‘enemy’, but those ‘sisterhood’ moments between them need to be just rare enough to make an impact &feel unexpectedly warm &fluffy.
@missmcollins Really, it shdn’t BE a compliment to tell a woman she looks younger than her age. As though age was a negative thing. It’s true we do TAKE it as a compliment, but women look every bit as attractive in their 40s/50s/60s/70s as in their 30s, & MORE attractive than in their 20s.
@Katheri74244292@missmcollins She’d better not!!! I love Linda as much as I love Cindy. I’m terrified Linda’s going to go to jail. Please, EE, don’t let that happen!!!
@missmcollins@guardian@celebQandA I’ve always thought sticky-out ears were kind of attractive in a childlike way, like button noses& front-teeth gaps (‘The London Look’, I think they call it). Haven’t noticed your ears as yr amazing hair, figure &eyes detract from them, but I shall look out for them now!!!
@Cindys_Stella No, please, no! I don’t want Cindy being a villain! Just because she was 25/35yrs ago...plenty of far less-redeemable characters have been redeemed (Suki, Billy, Stu, Phil, Ravi...) Cindy being feisty &headstrong is great, but ‘bad’? Nooo!
@Cindys_Stella@missmcollins I’m just gutted to hear Cindy’s going to become ‘badder’. Please, nooo! Her ‘80s/‘90s ‘bad girl’ persona was fitting for its time, but I LIKE her new version. She’s still got spirit &can crush anyone who deserves it;you wdn’t mess w her; but please don’t make her a ‘baddie’!
@CupCakeEllie@bbceastenders@patsypalmerx@missmcollins They could have milked the Cindy/Bianca reunion way more, though. It was always going to be the meeting we never knew we needed (&wow, we needed it), but I wish we cd have seen Bi’s face when she found out Cindy was alive &back in Walford!
@WowGrape90791@missmcollins Yes, they’re missing a huge bottomless well of potential stories there. I really want to see them thoroughly milk the whole Cindy backstory, before &after reuniting with Ian&Peter.
@sallepage@missmcollins YES, PLEASE keep ‘Gelaine’ & ‘Cian’ together. I love both couples. I like it when EE shows former couples being friends or having a good ‘working relationship’,& showing how you can’t always be with your ‘one true love’ but that this doesn’t need to matter if you’re friends.
@R2D22024@missmcollins Hear, hear!!! Let’s start a hashtag campaign. I also want to see something of the years between leaving Málaga &reuniting with Ian. It’d be a harrowing watch, as Cindy was utterly broken, but it wd help fill in the blanks&enhance our understanding of her.
