𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭: 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐔𝐧𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥, 𝐀𝐠𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐛𝐲 𝐏𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐜𝐲𝐛𝐚𝐳𝐚𝐚𝐫 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞

I recently received a call from Mr. Ashish Sarkar (Employee ID: PW46416), Health Insurance Advisor, Policybazaar, regarding a health insurance policy.

At the beginning of the conversation, Mr. Sarkar introduced himself as a representative of Policybazaar and referred to my earlier communication/interaction with Policybazaar. I clearly informed him that I was not interested in purchasing any insurance policy at present and that, if I required a policy in the future, I would contact Policybazaar myself.

Despite my clear response, he continued the conversation and stated that, based on my previous visit/interaction with Policybazaar, he had prepared a policy proposal according to my requirements. He then proceeded to explain the policy and discussed a premium of approximately ₹13,000+ per year (around ₹1,100+ per month).

I again clearly told him that I was not interested in taking the policy at this time and that I would contact Policybazaar whenever I felt the need for insurance. However, instead of respecting my decision, he continued to question me about why I was not taking the policy and repeatedly tried to persuade me to proceed.

When I reiterated that I was not interested at present and would contact Policybazaar myself if required, his tone became aggressive and intimidating. He allegedly told me that if I did not take the policy, he would cancel everything and that I would not be able to get any policy or scheme from Policybazaar in the future.

I objected to his manner of speaking and asked him to maintain appropriate professional behaviour. Following this, he ended/cancelled the conversation.

I find this behaviour highly inappropriate, unprofessional and unacceptable, particularly because I had clearly communicated my decision not to purchase a policy at this time. A customer should have the freedom to decline a product without being subjected to pressure, intimidation or threatening statements.

I therefore request Policybazaar to look into this matter, review the call recording and take appropriate action, if the conversation confirms the above conduct. I would also appreciate clarification as to whether an individual representative has any authority to tell a customer that they will be denied future policies or schemes for choosing not to purchase a policy.

I request that my complaint be formally acknowledged and that the outcome of the investigation be communicated to me.
