Agreef 100%, So we should focus on growth stock at reasonable price....Over the longer term value stock with good growth potential may significantly outperform hyped growth stock which are not cheap
Considering PEG ratio helps in picking winning stocks.
PEG = PE/ Future EPS growth
We invest for returns. A simple framework:
Returns (R) = (Future Price/ Current Price); or
R = (Future EPS * Future PE)/ (Current EPS * Current PE); or
R= EPS growth * change in PE multiples
If the starting PE is very high, you will need supernormal earnings growth to justify returns. Any miss can crack the stock, so your margin of error is low.
If the starting PE is reasonable and stock delivers good EPS growth, you make good returns.
If starting PE is low and stock delivers good EPS growth with visibility of a long runway, you make multibagger returns.
Also understanding longevity of earnings growth is critical when investing. Many super high PE stocks don't have that longevity.

Financial markets create money out of thin air? A model for companies in financial difficulty: issue equity to creditors to repay their debt. If the stock is well traded, the creditor can sell in the market and get paid by investors. What is that story about Peter and Paul?
