El Salvador denied my visa because Kenya reported 8 Ebola cases even though authorities in Nairobi maintain that there’s no widespread outbreak.
El Salvador has banned citizens of DRC & random neighboring East & Central African countries - including many without any cases 🇷🇼 🇪🇹
Based on South African food retail market dynamics, Quickmart would trade at an implied value of KES 7.50 per share at a conservative 10x or 20x normal multiple, giving the company an implied market capitalization of KES 15 billion-30 billion
-Annual Turnover (Revenue): KES 50.0 Billion -Net Profit: KES 1.5 Billion
-Net Profit Margin: 3.0% (1.5B ÷ 50B) -Total Shares Issued: 4.0 Billion
-Earnings Per Share (EPS): KES 0.375 (1.5B ÷ 2B) -Applied P/E Multiple: 10.0x
-Implied Share Price: KES 3.75 (0.375 × 10)
-Implied Market Capitalization: KES 15.0 Billion (3.750 × 4B)
If we applied a 20x multiple,
Option 2: 20X Multiple:
-share price 7.5/=
-market Cap 30 billion
I guess we shall have a bit of fun with this valuation. * Note am guessing lots of things, till we get the IM
I have redone this to note the total no of shares issued is 4 billion shares
My guess is the valuation will close to 20x multiples
How Unga Limited supplies Supermarkets vs other suppliers
Unga Limited
-supermarket is asked to obtain Bank guarantee for x weeks worth of supplies
-s/mrkt deposits the cash in bank and obtains equivalent guarantee. E.g. naivas 100-200m
-Unga supplies up the amt of guarantee
-once limit is reached, supplies are stopped till payment is made in full
-cycle repeats
-Incase of default Unga Limited will go to bank and liquidate guarantee. They did on collapse of Uchumi,Tuksys and Nakumatt; and got paid while everyone else lost
Other Unga suppliers
-sales person goes to supermarket. Gets an LPO.
-supplies are done in full
-Payment are 45-60 days after supply
-supplies are kept constant

@KeTreasury
Accounting is very interesting right now. Entry level positions are being outsourced or replaced by AI, making it difficult for new grads to find jobs. Paradoxically, there's a shortage of tax pros because boomers are retiring, and few of the recent grads can gain tax experience.
