Note what he said about the absence of a working class in UAE.
Elites all over the world are committed to the same fantasy of preventing the development of an indigenous working class that can put the necks of the elites on a guillotine. Even Kenya, that's what the anti-education rhetoric and labor export deals, and the #daringabroad sermons of Chams Media are about. The Kenya government holds onto the same dream of a country with only elites, slaves and foreign workers who cant vote, and can be turned into scapegoats at the snap of the finger when a president is looking for a distraction, like with Burundians when small scale traders protested the tax rise.
Same policy is in the US. The US broke its working class and exported its industries to east Asia, especially China. That's why I couldn't understand when Kenyans were gloriously singing that US industrialized with competency education. No people, they de-industrialized.
The countries that fight this neo-feudalism are not the ones like Kenya , where we are always burying our heads in parliamentary bills in the name of public participation, and sending responses which politicians ignore. What we need is a philosophy of sovereignty and commitment to washing liberal democracy out of our brains.
But that's not a solution, right? It's irrelevant to the market. Meaning to foreign employers.

The Year of the Hyenas was prophesied by the late John DeMathew. In the song, he speaks of a time when greed, betrayal and selfishness would define society. He also talks about heavy rains that would pour relentlessly, something many now associate with the devastating El Niño floods. DeMathew reminds his listeners that "a man seated sees farther than a young boy on top of a tree.
He goes on to describe someone who has made himself a hyena through gluttony, constantly following another person while waiting for his hand to fall so that he can bite it. But the hand never falls, and in the end the hyena goes home hungry. In the second stanza, DeMathew recalls how Jesus, before His crucifixion, was taken before Pontius Pilate. Although Pilate found Him not guilty, when the crowd was asked whether Jesus should be released, they instead demanded the release of the thief, Barabbas. Through this, DeMathew reflects on a society where the innocent are condemned while the guilty are celebrated.
He goes further with a lesson from Kikuyu history, recalling that when Kikuyu warriors raided Maasai land and returned with women, those women came to be known as Nyokabi. He then asks, "Where did they get you?" before delivering one of the song's most powerful lines: "If you were truly one of us, the people who died in Kiambaa would pain you."
