@WashiraX iTax is deeply flawed. We’ve seen cases where individuals get PAYE demand notices despite amounts already filed in 2025. The system fails to credit taxpayers’ ledgers, forcing us to apply to KRA to manually update accounts. Shockingly frustrating and unacceptable.

The first time I presented my report to the @IFRC Governing Board was at its 41st session. Today, we are at the 55th.

Yet today, the world is not just in crisis — it is in freefall.

Climate shocks. Disease outbreaks. Displacement and migration. Shrinking aid. Yet communities continue to expect one thing from the IFRC: that we show up.

That expectation is our mandate.

The challenges are accelerating. So must we.

The world is not waiting. Neither can we.

The @IFRC Governing Board came together to honor the fallen volunteers and staff of our Red Cross and Red Crescent family.

In the first five months of 2026, 18 volunteers and staff from National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have already lost their lives.

One life lost is far too many. We must #ProtectHumanity.

A powerful start to World Red Cross and Red Crescent Day and Kenya #RedCrossat60 celebrations.

Through the leadership of Kiambu County Governor, Dr. @KWamatangi, KRCS Secretary General, Dr. Ahmed Idris, teams from @IFRCAfrica, @ICRC_Nairobi and Kenya Red Cross joined the Central Region team at the Governor’s office for the official flag-off.

From a vibrant walk to Kirigiti, to first aid demonstrations and the launch of the Recognition of Prior Learning programme, it was a day filled with pride, passion and purpose.

Today, we inaugurated Dr. Paul Kimani Wamatangi as the county patron of Kenya Red Cross and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Kiambu County Government Offices.

The MOU focuses on enhancing disaster response, risk reduction & contingency planning, reinforcing the strategic partnership between Kenya Red Cross and the county government.

To improve the county's preparedness and response to disasters, the County Government of Kiambu and Kenya Red Cross Society have today signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a framework for cooperation on disaster management and response.

The partnership agreement, signed between myself and Kenya Red Cross Society Secretary General Dr. Ahmed Idris, focuses on disaster management, which includes proactive approaches, contingency planning to ensure consistent and high-quality disaster response, as well as resource mobilization.

I was also inaugurated as the Kiambu County Red Cross Patron, a task that I have taken up with excitement and promised to oversee strategic leadership that will improve our activities.
Among those present were Kenya Red Cross Society Governor and Chair Hon. Geoffrey Kipngetichm, Deputy Governor Julianne Kamau, County Attorney Waithera Waiyaki, and Chief Officer of Intergovernmental Relations Wairimu Wanjaiya.
