“How Dare You Question The Minister”!

This man here is a farmer, grief stricken due to the dried up pond in the his village.

But how dare an ordinary farmer to question an MLA about water???

This incident took place in Eerladinna village, Amarachinta Mandal, Wanaparthy District, Telangana today.

Minister Srihari was questioned by a farmer about water. For this sin, the farmer was attacked by followers of the minister and of course the police were also seen trying to silence the farmer.

“At least in the rainy season, the pond should be alive right? When will you fill the water. Don’t we farmers need water?”, the agitated farmer was seen asking.

"How dare question the minister? Go ask the ex-MLA. Do what you want”, the local Congress leaders were heard shouting in the mike.

The effects of El-Nino are being felt in many Telangana villages already. With Congress not deciding on repairing Medigadda or lifting water from Kanepalli Pump House, tens of thousands of cusecs of Godavari water is flowing wastefully into the sea.

Anyone who is ignoring water supply to agriculture in a state like Telangana should be considered a criminal.

Every drop counts and instead of trying to stifle voices, the ministers and chief minister Revanth Reddy should go beyond politics and focus on public.

No welfare scheme will come even close to giving uninterrupted water for farming.

At least 15,000 tankers are being booked per day in Hyderabad city, which is probably the highest ever.

Northern Telangana is parched.

But around 50,000 to one lakh cusecs of Godavari water is getting wasted EVERY SINGLE DAY!!!

Let me give you a better perspective -

In just ONE DAY Kannepalli pump house can lift water equivalent to one entire Hussain Sagar full water.

In just 31 hours, Kannepalli pump house can lift water equivalent to one Gandipet Lake.

But the government refuses to accept.

It is unfortunate, that with the threat of drought due to El-Nino is looming large, the Telangana Congress Government decided to play politics.

Senior politician and BJP MP Etala Rajendar too came in support of utilising Kannepalli Pump House to lift Godavari water.

“Do your politics later. Sundilla, Annaram, Yellampalli - all these dams, motors and pump-houses are in perfect condition. The beauty of Kannepalli pump house is that, even when 50,000 cusecs of water inflow is there (in Godavari), water can be lifted.

We need to understand that El-Nino will bring severe drought. It is unfortunate that Congress is resorting to political grandstanding instead of using the available infrastructure (of Kaleshwaram) that was built with thousands of crores.

People need water. It is July and farmers are still not able to sow seeds due to water scarcity. Hyderabad has no water. Lift water from Kannepalli immediately and ensure that we are not struggling with drought”!
