@ArmandDoma There are plenty of economists who are pro-minimum wage but anti-rent control, tho. I'd love to hear from them about the conceptual difference: is it "just" a political economy question about entrenched interests or is rent different from wages in a fundamental way?

@jennifermmorton Agreed! I do wonder though if scale/incentives dominate. More efficient to have the NHS or public schools rather than vouchers, even if there were no additional burden on recipients. I'd be curious about test cases cleaving provider efficiency from recipient burden
@jennifermmorton Feels like the opposite of criticisms of other government programs: restricting SNAP-eligible products patronizes recipients, who know best what they need. A goods/services distinction, and perhaps also whether the service is universal (school) or targeted (housing vouchers)?
