After around an 11 hour play session on the first day with @PlayEOTU (Embers of the Uncrowned), i pretty much completed the demo, almost 100% it. Max level, close to max gear, all content cleared minus some quests.
My early thoughts:
- Game feels like a mobile MMO that has been refurbished and ported PC but stripped of all the usual mobile auto combat/play stuff. In fact, I'm positive this was a mobile game at once and refurbished for PC.
- Combat is surprisingly fun, no where near Lost Ark level but to be fair, not many games are. Combat is vastly better than mobile MMOs but def falls short of top quality PC MMOs.
- Camera panning/angle is plaguing the game the most and does impact the combat/gameplay a lot. I don't know what they were thinking not having the cursor lock in place when holding RMB down to pan the camera.
- Despite being isometric, it's not in dungeons. You can pan your camera vertically in dungeons and honestly it feels better that way. They need to either revisit/fix the camera angle/fov or just open the game up to being 3D entirely.
- Story/voiceacting very solid
More details and thoughts will be in my Youtube review coming soon.
Hey everyone,
Today I reached a huge milestone in the solo MMORPG I've been developing.
The multiplayer foundation I've been building can now support players fighting monsters together. I've connected the animations, effects, and synchronization systems, allowing clients to communicate properly and share the same combat experience.
It might look like a small update from the outside, but for me this is one of the biggest steps I've taken so far. Seeing multiple players interact in the same world makes the project feel more real than ever.
Thank you to everyone who has been following and supporting this journey. We're getting there, one step at a time.
If you'd like to support the project, your follows, comments, and feedback mean more than you know.

@Tectone I’d play ff7 first man, and the original version of it (the new version is not the same…as in the story is a different version of the original). Ff7 is what literally got me into RPGs and my first experience with a video game where I couldn’t stop thinking about it haha
The collaborative MMO Spirit Crossing started its Steam open beta today (no future wipes). I went in with low expectations and i think i'm in love. I LOVE the art style, game opens up a lot as you play (housing, friendships, quests, collectibles, progression) and it has a cool interaction system: you see other players as silhouettes, if you introduce yourself their characters fill in, you can chat and unlock more. It's been a long time since a cozy MMO captured me like this, i edited my first hour in 5 minutes to show how it opens up
