@claudiamconwayy It's all a smoke screen to get their viewers to see past the real problem here. I am sick at the fact that everyday I go into work as a teacher there is a greater possibility that myself and my students can get gunned down. How many lives will it take?!!!
@Cari_Miller5@artinstitutechi Did you get to see "Sunday Afternoon..." by George Seurat? We read about it in 2nd grade and learn about pointillism. All the kids are so excited when I tell them they can go see it there!
@RobinRoberts God bless!! My husband is 2 years clean from a stem cell transplant back in 2019. He has been such an admirer of your career and your fight with cancer! @Splash5
@briantylercohen@GovPritzker I'm a proud Illinoisian, born and bred, and I could not be more grateful of the way @GovPritzker has handled this pandemic in IL. I'm a teacher and my husband is a 2x cancer survivor and I believe he has kept us safe and out of harms way the best he can.
@JordanAbudayyeh@shasimss@briantylercohen@GovPritzker Thank you @JordanAbudayyeh! I'm a proud Illinoisian, born and raised, and we are so lucky to have our governor and people like you look out for our safety. I'm a teacher and my husband is a 2x cancer survivor and we thank you all for protecting us!
@Acyn I taught a group of 22 second graders last year from Aug-June wearing masks almost the whole day.
Not one student ever complained about wearing a mask and they all wore them better than adults! I would just have to remind a few to put it over their nose.
My name is Julie Johnson.
Iβm one of the Texas Democrats that broke quorum on a really bad voter suppression bill.
Now our Governor has targeted us. He has 613,000 followers. I have 7,000.
Will you help me stay in the fight by asking your friends to follow me?

@SecondGentleman Good luck to you sir! I still remember my 1st day as a teacher 17 years ago. My experience may be a bit different than you since I have taught K, 1, & 2.
1) Take a deep breath
2) Know they are just as nervous as you
3) Admit your mistakes
4) Connect lessons to real world issues
@Cari_Miller5 Aww, I missed this Tweet! This is so sad, but true!
I even had to go through an active shooter drill (without kids) at one of my former schools where the police brought pop guns!
Since then I vowed I'd just start pushing kids out the window if that happened to me.
