@Truthful_ast It has horrible PR. That's why. It came at the worse time. These are normies we are talking about. I've always hated elitism but now as an AI lover I understand why it exists. It honestly sucks
@reset_by_peer Why are you so aggressive lol. I'm just asking for some agnosticism when it comes to consciousness. Unless you have some explanation for what it is, I think it's best to stay agnostic and use Bayesian reasoning. LLMs are very very likely not conscious, software perhaps could be.
@anxiouswithadhd Why did you put philosophers there? I don't like how philosophers are considered humanities people. They're above both humanities and STEM. Philosophy is everything
@ContraPoints It's a genuine question. Why can't we eat babies? What's so unethical about it? Say the babies are killed harmlessly and are abandoned meaning nobody cares about them. What's wrong with eating them? Who is wronged? This is why we need ethics to be discussed.
@kerrypacter@Empty_America Do you actually think "high culture" is somehow proletarian? The fact that you think that "high culture" is somehow metaphysically better and more "intellectual" is a bourgeoisie concept. High culture doesn't automatically mean more "intellectual."
@bunnymaximalist@patthegoat0@CedarAndWood I don't think Nuremberg was a show trial; the allies did actually attempt to make it legitimate. It doesn't mean there were no problems though. For example, retroactively punishing people for laws created after the fact.
Better than summary executions though.
@CedarAndWood@patthegoat0 Sure but this isn't a legal justification, it's a moral one. It's fine to admit that it's "victor's justice" while also saying that the Nazis deserved it despite technically committing no crime.
@KeyTryer The process is more "human" than diffusion models. You have to do more work for each individual part of the process, which is why it's more intentional. That's exactly why it's more "soulful."
I'm having a blast with this amazing model
@KeyTryer Well, it's not really that old-fashioned now since it's kind of a real threat, but I'm contrasting it with the new anti-AI stance of being anti-capitalist and believing in human exceptionalism, or about environmentalism and something like that.
