Watched someone clone my macOS app this week and start selling it at $19.

The lesson isn't "protect your idea." You can't. AI tools mean anyone can rebuild your product faster than you can defend it.

The lesson is that building is now the cheap part. Distribution is the expensive part, and most indie devs (me included) spend 90% of their time on the cheap part.

I built dissectMac to 1,000 downloads and 70 paying users on pure organic SEO with zero marketing. Time to fix the other half. Now nobody cares about original creator 👽
