Big sky WY fossils got to check out the Windy City big sky. @CAS_Loyola students did some rooftop screen washing of micro vertebrate fossils and sorting team recovered two beautiful mammal teeth this morning. Fun #FossilFriday in the Whitney Lab!
For #FossilFriday, wrapped up collecting from a new microsite collection today in the Lance Formation. We also got to play with lasers under a blanket and dig up some larger bones too @CAS_Loyola@IMNH208
Check it out! @karamiaehler won top overall poster at this past weekend's Chicago Area Undergraduate Research Symposium! Her research is on the life history of the mini camel Poebrotherium 🐪 https://t.co/5XE1WOXN1b
The Whitney Lab presenting at this year’s @LoyolaChicago undergraduate symposium! Kara, Natalie, and Pranati presented on early camel & early tetrapod paleohisto, and the evolution of tooth replacement in synapsids. Go team!
But ultimately none of this would be possible without the students (most of whom don’t have twitter) @abigail_waller3@megoriley@karamiaehler, plus special guest appearance by @feldspathic to start the season… Maybe my favorite team of students ever 5/6
From triceratops teeth to a camel arm, @karamiaehler, junior, reflects on her fieldwork experience at Bighorn Basin, Wyoming this summer.
