Tax Audit due date should be PERMANENTLY extended to 31st October.
Every year, tax professionals face the same challenge -
🤯 Heavy compliance workload, unrealistic timelines and
⏰ repeated demands for due date extensions.
The issue is not extensions; the issue is compliance overload and inadequate time for quality work.

QUALITY AUDIT NEEDS TIME, NOT PRESSURE
The issue isn't avoiding compliance. Chartered Accountants are committed to timely, high-quality compliance.
The real concern is the concentration of multiple important statutory compliances around 30th September, while Tax Audits themselves require extensive verification, reconciliation, documentation and professional review.
At the same time, CA offices are working late into the night, putting enormous pressure on professionals and their teams.
WHY NOT 31ST OCTOBER?
A permanent extension of the Tax Audit due date to 31st October would provide:
✅ More time for proper verification and reconciliation
✅ Better quality and accuracy of audit reports
✅ Reduced pressure on Chartered Accountants and their team
✅ Smoother and more orderly statutory compliance
✅ Greater focus on professional standards rather than last-minute completion
OUR HUMBLE REQUEST
🙏 Extend the Tax Audit Due Date to 31st October PERMANENTLY — and announce the decision well in advance.
This is not a request for less compliance. It is a request for adequate time to ensure better compliance.
A CALL TO THE CA FRATERNITY
📢 Raise your voice. Share this message. Tag the concerned authorities.
Let us collectively demand TIME FOR QUALITY.
31ST OCTOBER — PERMANENTLY.

Tax Bar Association, Bhilwara seeks extension of Tax Audit Reports (3CA/3CB & 3CD) and Forms 10B/10BB for AY 2026-27 from 30 Sept to 31 Oct 2026, citing late ITR utilities, revised ICAI requirements and compressed audit timelines. https://t.co/7NHw4sVGVu
PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTANTS GROUP
We request Govt/CBDT to shift date of filing Tax Audit Reports, 10B, 10BB etc permanently from 30th Sep to 31st Oct every year, so that Professionals need not to request to govt to extend relevant dates

It is a request from @IncomeTaxIndia plase Extend tax audit due date.
We are working 16 hours a day and getting only 4-5 hours of sleep from last 1 month.
Tax audit requires high level of professional judgement and takes time
#extendduedate#extendtaxauditdate
Request @IncomeTaxIndia to extend the Tax Audit due date to 31.10.2026. Multiple statutory compliances and heavy workload require reasonable time for quality audit. Ease of Doing Business must also mean Ease of Compliance. #TaxAudit#DueDateExtension 🙏🙏
Its most urgent to extend due date for Tax Audits, this compromises the quality of audits and even more importantly, deterirates the health of everyone involved in this exercise
#extendduedate#ExtendTARDueDate
So, there have been representations from various associations, but still there is no writ petition in court this time seeking a change in the Tax Audit due date.
The Twitter campaign also appears to be much weaker this year.
Many professionals are saying that, despite trying their best, they may not be able to meet the current deadline.
The practical reality is that almost everyone was occupied with Non-Audit ITRs throughout August, leaving very limited time for completing Tax Audit work.
Instead of facing the same deadline crisis every year, the Government should permanently restore a reasonable statutory gap between the Non-Audit ITR due date and the Tax Audit due date.
A permanent, practical solution is needed- not another last-minute extension every year.

Retweet, if Agree
Practising CAs: Extension is a must.
ICAI: No extension required.
A clear disconnect between the profession on the ground and its representation.
