सितंबर 2025 में, अमेरिकी सेना ने वेनेजुएला से आ रहे ड्रग्स से भरे एक जहाज पर हमला किया जिसमें 11 लोग मारे गए थे।
अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने इस हमले की पुष्टि की है और वेनेजुएला के राष्ट्रपति निकोलस मादुरो ने इसे गैर-कानूनी बताया है।

वेनेजुएला पर हमले की धमकी डोनाल्ड ट्रंप ने कई बार दी है और उन्होंने कहा है कि वे ड्रग तस्करों पर जमीन पर भी हमला करेंगे।
