Rather disturbing story about left-wing donors giving to "openly antisemitic" (NYT) nouveau alt-right candidate James Fishback ostensibly because of his positions on Israel. From @WillBredderman

The Iranian Regime cuts the internet so arrests, beatings, and disappearances happen unseen. Families in Iran lose contact with loved ones during shutdowns.

Internet shutdowns in Iran aren’t “technical issues.” They are deliberate blackouts the Islamic Republic of Iran uses to cover up violence against its own people. @elonmusk
In Iran right now, millions of people are risking their lives to demand basic human rights, dignity, and freedom from an authoritarian regime. They are being killed in the streets. Be their voice.

Richmond Mayor Eduardo Martinez, an elected official responsible for more than 100,000 residents, has engaged in a disturbing pattern of antisemitic conduct. In recent days, he has shared multiple LinkedIn posts that appear to blame Jews for the Bondi Beach terror attack. This sadly is a clear example of where toxic social media and the constant dehumanization of Israel and Jews leads. Such rhetoric is dangerous, offensive, and unacceptable from any public official.
This is not an isolated incident. Earlier this year, Mayor Martinez spoke at a conference in Detroit where he compared himself to Hamas and wore a hat calling for the death of the IDF. After the atrocities of October 7, he also pushed Richmond to become the first US city to pass a ceasefire resolution that included no condemnation of Hamas.
Mayor Martinez’s words and actions undermine trust and make Jewish residents feel unsafe in their own city.
For the good of Richmond and its community, Mayor Eduardo Martinez must resign.
@Brouhard4OUSD As an educator and Oakland resident, I strongly condemn any school board resolutions on #IsraelHamas. These resolutions only create division, encourage hate speech, and foster unsafe environments. No other ethnic group or war has EVER been targeted like this.
@GavinNewsom Thank you, Governor! I join @SFJCRC to say how deeply grateful our community is to you for showing solidarity to the people of #Israel following the terrible attack by Hamas. The world must unite against extremism, terror, and hate.
It’s almost the Jewish New Year, and I’m thinking of Evan Gershkovich, who has been in a Russian prison for over 5 months. Join me in sending a letter of support to say #ShanaTovaEvan and #IStandWithEvan https://t.co/eJBXDtvcEh
@BALENCIAGA Thank you for standing up to anti-Semitism. I just wanted to express my admiration and appreciation for this decision as a historian and a customer ...
