During the Kargil War, Indian Army faced the toughest challenges in Batalik-Yaldor sector. Batalik comes under district Kargil. Batalik is only fifty-six kilometres from Kargil and approximately 250 kilometres from Srinagar.

Most dominated holding of Pakistan was Jubar Complex and Khalubar Peak. It is very difficult to climb these knife-edged peaks,Our intelligence inputs and pictures taken by our air force showed there were some six to seven hundred Pak army personnel on the heights.

Pakistan army is planning to capture this area to strangle Siachin. Main intrusions made by Pakistan in this region were Jubar Complex Point 5203, Point 4812, Kukarthang, Khalubar, Turtuk, and Chorbat LA.

On #May #24th_1999 after the meeting of Cabinet Committee on Security. Indian Army launched ‘Operation VIJAY’. Airforce and Navy decided to launch it under code name ‘Op SAFED SAGAR’ and ‘Op TALWAR’ respectively.

The war is ON.
