Q : Can antidepressants cause emotional blunting?

A: Yes but only in some.

Emotional blunting is reported in ~40–60% of SSRI users, often dose-dependent and reversible.

SSRIs reduce dopaminergic (DA) activity in the ventral striatum, blunting reward processing and motivation.

Psych Scene Tip💡: Don’t assume it’s universal.

Blunting ≠ inefficacy.

Consider dose reduction, switching, or augmentation.
