There's a bill in Kenya's parliament that could save thousands of lives every year. Almost no one knows it exists. It's called the Kenya Roads (Amendment) Bill, 2025 National Assembly Bills No. 14.
Here's what you need to know.
The bill is short; perhaps too short.
1. County Mandated Roads?
2. No minimum design standards or accessibility specs
3. No dedicated funding or ring-fenced budget (% of RMLF?)
4. No retrofitting timeline for existing roads
5. Still needs Senate concurrence (delays?)
CFAO Mobility Kenya has now taken a 99.4% stake in Kenya Vehicle Manufacturers after investing Sh2.4 billion.
The government and CMC now hold 0.3% each.
In my opinion, the challenge on the ruling on the impeachment yesterday needs to go all the way so that there is clarity on two things:
1. Politically instigated impeachments and the legal process to achieving it.
2. Public participation as a concept: who, where, why, how, what.
Four banks are now under pressure after failing to meet CBK’s Sh3 billion minimum capital requirement, with the threshold set to rise further by year-end.
These include:
— Credit Bank
— Consolidated Bank of Kenya
— Development Bank of Kenya
— Access Bank Kenya
SALT has been mentioned 47 times in the Bible.
SALT is life.
The enemy is sugar.
They condemn salt to protect sugar.
Anyone who tells you salt will kill you is an educated fool.

Nigeria’s Dangote Refinery was the world’s largest single exporter of jet fuel (aviation fuel) in April 2026. Remind me, who said everything is impossible until it is done?
@Raz_arc@Mr_Guantai Has always been the low hanging fruit re traffic fines. I think it's likely the biggest motivator of what we see today, which is lopsided. Road Safety and sanity should be the primary motivator IMHO.
Interestingly, today morning drivers were observing the 50KPH speed along Ngong Rd from the Junction diversion into town. But they still skipped red lights, drove on the exit lanes back into traffic, and generally behaved badly! This one will be interesting...
@Joshuajkariuki Does this mean they cannot use the existing cameras to enforce all these infractions since they're all caught in the same clips used to enforce speed infractions?
@Raz_arc@Mr_Guantai It will be interesting to see how far Kenya can take it now that chaos is a mandatory requirement for survival on our roads. They seem to be after speed merchants for now though.
