@drewwilson@valiocon@drewwilson any way that I can lock in the early bird price now but book in a few weeks? Need a little more time to get my employer on board.
Been having a blast playing along in design speed rounds with the design prompts from The Arena, organized by @thejoshloh and aired last fall. The asset curation is top notch and makes for an incredible learning resource. From https://t.co/iNFd8DAzlp / https://t.co/8jL5EAUWjh
The Trylon and Perisphere were two monumental modernistic structures designed by architects Wallace Harrison and J. Andre Fouilhoux that were together known as the Theme Center of the 1939 New York World's Fair.

Been trying to do more "recreating" explorations, where I dig into the work of a pro and learn from the choices they made. Had some fun making stuff for https://t.co/vrekbwLsbY, riffing (heavily) off of something @slaterdesign put out a few days ago, and https://t.co/VbwOywIXkG
@jayneil@lorenbaxter I love the length as is. It's digestible – I could see >30m being helpful for folks who want a deep dive on component construction or design system file set up, but personally I want to see "here's how I approach thinking about this" and I'm getting that now from the vids!
Been catching up on SneakPeek from @jayneil post-Config and so far my absolute fave is @lorenbaxter's episode. So many valuable tips on UI details and product thinking hidden in here. https://t.co/teEYn1SaOF
#baristadann@DannPetty asked for a site for a coffee shop inspired by surfing, skateboarding, snowboarding, outdoor adventures, and midcentury vibes, with some bold colors and typography. (thread below) https://t.co/ESIHZcZfyx
Each blend is named after a pioneer of the outdoor sporting world.
One area that was tricky was visually incorporating coffee into the design. I didn't want to stick coffee cups over vintage photos, so decided to try and let the merch and best selling product communicate that.
@DannPetty@webflow#BaristaDann The vintage + outdoor parts of the prompt got me thinking, how did snow/skateboarding originate? Turns out surfers basically invented both in the 50s/60s. So I was inspired by the origins of that, Absolutely Radical magazine (!), and the ✦ seen in MCM designs...WIP
Really informative talk from @EleniBeveratou and @glyphe on accessibility in typography
My top 2 takeaways for more accessible type:
• more open terminals and counters
• use two story characters (a, g), given that we scan the top part of letterforms

Very excited about this : )
