Okay, I uploaded this unlisted bc it's easier than uploading to Twitter directly. But here's my full discussion about the ongoing dissent in the Destiny/Marathon communities. Ultimately, this is an exploration of the question: Did Marathon kill Destiny?
Key points in the vid:
- The last Destiny expansion to actually meet sales projections was Witch Queen. The years before and the 4 years after were all years of underperformance. This lead to layoffs. Destiny lost dev support not because they were shifted to Marathon but because they were forced out of the building.
- Some key architects of pivotal moments like Forsaken's weapon system overhaul and the Go Fast update were promptly let go as soon as the product shipped.
- Marathon isn't a Sony cash grab, they would have made a safer bet if it was. Instead, it's a Bungie passion projects where devs put their talent and love into a ballsy move to try to create a game that pushed the boundaries of a niche genre that they saw something special in.
- Players reacted poorly to seasonal and episodic drip style content, leading to many players leaving the game behind. This also stripped old content and left new players confused and lost.

I never served, but I sure am grateful for those who did. Especially those who paid the highest price for it.
Enjoyed honoring them today by doing literal stereotypical American things. Swam with friends, drank beer and ate grilled meats, took the kids out for ice cream at a mom and pop ice cream shop, sat on the front porch and played fetch with the dog to wind down the day.
Glad I have the luxury of enjoying a day like this, not blind to what it took to get here and who we have to thank for it.
If anyone in the Destiny community goes after Cozmo and DMG during the fallout right now, then you were never part of the Destiny COMMUNITY. You were just a consumer, and now you're a Karen.
I’ve had some folks ask if I’m going to make a Destiny’s end video. I’m not planning on it. I made my exit years ago, and it would be an awkward video to drop in with my other content.
But I get to have a positive discussion reminiscing on the things we loved about Destiny and why it was so important to us with the other hosts of @DCP_Live this week.
Feel free to watch the VOD and drop a comment about a memory or person from Destiny that left a lasting impact on you.

Overall view:
- Destiny 2 probably should have ended with Final Shape with Destiny 3 already incubating
- If Destiny 2 was going to keep existing, it shouldn't have been what we got, which was badly handled
- Marathon siphoned a ton of resources and there is no disputing that

For almost twelve years, we have had the joy and honor to explore the Destiny universe with you all. Through all the ups and downs, surprises and triumphs, building Destiny alongside our players has been a monumental privilege. While our love for Destiny 2 has not changed, it has become clear that after The Final Shape, we have reached the time for our shared worlds, and Destiny, to live beyond Destiny 2.
As our focus turns towards a new beginning for Bungie, we will begin work incubating our next games. To that end, on June 9, 2026, we will release the final live-service content update for Destiny 2 to begin that new journey as a studio.
Though active development may be concluding, we will ensure that Destiny 2 remains playable, just as the original Destiny is today. Many changes in this final update will aim to ensure that Destiny 2 is a welcoming place for players to return to.
We’re proud of Destiny 2, the places it took us, and the legacy it has created. Because of you all, our universe is vast, built on years of shared stories, adventures, and victories. From the Cosmodrome to the Pale Heart to the Lawless Frontier, we have forged life-long memories and friendships with you all.
We are incredibly grateful to everyone who made that journey with us.
From the deepest part of our hearts, thank you, and we'll see you in the stars.
Hey friends in the creator space, I'm looking to make contact with brand reps for the companies whose products I actually use on a daily basis. Does anyone have contact info for folks from any of these?
- HyperX (I only use HyperX headsets)
- Razer (I prefer Razer for my mouse on my editing rig)
- Corsair (I prefer Corsair for my FPS games)
- Acer/ASUS (I have 4 monitors, prefer these)
The Marvel Rivals community is split on the dino. People who live in ranked play hate him, the overwhelming majority of gamers like him.
Personally, I think video games should always be fun before they need to be hyper competitive. Let players have fun with the dino, balance as needed just like they always do. Ranked players can just ban him and keep living in their preferred environment. In quickplay the dino is seriously not a problem 99% of the time.
