2nd 🔑note is from Prof. Sarah Halligan, who says that children can experience variation in PTSD post trauma -as children grow risk for PTSD increases - in PTSD there's negative appraisal self, rumination on certain memories. -symptoms of depression/anxiety are also maintained.

Also from @andrea_danese - even before maltreatment, children have a set of cog. deficits. -longitudinal studies show victimized children have lower IQ and executive functioning.-trauma increases the risk of psychopathology -looking at risk factors will allow for prevention.
