The Annual Status of Education Report of 2022 suggests that 98% of children in India are enrolled in schools. But the question is are they learning well? In Pratham's Teaching at the Right Level methodology, regardless of age or grade, teaching starts at the learning level of the child. The focus is on helping children aged 8 years and above with basic reading, understanding, expressing themselves as well as arithmetic skills. These are foundational building blocks that help a child to move forward.

@CSF_India@WorldBank Low-tech solutions like SMS/ feedback calls are a great way to engage children during school closures. Studies by Pratham and others show that targeted learning SMS and planned, frequent feedback calls improve learning levels.

@CSF_India Teachers should be asked what they need, and EdTech solutions should complement, not supplement, their approach. Investment in regular capacity building and parental awareness is essential for uptake. (1/2)
