We cannot afford to have Mollem burning again! The link between forest fragmentation (caused by large infrastructure projects) and the frequency of forest fires has been scientifically proven. Please note @bhlab_india@visrane#SaveMollem#GoaIsBurning#StopDoubleTracking
Forest fragmentation has been shown to increase the frequency of #ForestFires, as well as their intensity and extent, particularly in tropical forests. Stop railway double-tracking through Goa's Western Ghats and our villages! @wii_india#GoaIsBurning#StopDoubleTracking

“How can Railways enter someone’s property, claim it is their land, & start working as if there is no law?” asks Alina Saldanha, “the Govt must set the right example & take action on Railways who are working without permission & ownership papers.

Appalled at what’s happening in #kodaikanal tourist spot - Pillar Rocks. The Forest department builds a wall to block the view so people cannot see it from outside but forced to buy tickets to go in ? Is this how they function? @supriyasahuias@CMOTamilnadu
Also worth stating that our own work in Upper Siang on birds conducted entirely in jhum landscape found similar bird diversity. More evidence of how important these landscapes are for biodiversity. @kartix@viv1ram

@PeepalFarm your YouTube video on "Spiti dog feeding" makes a mockery of a serious issue. The growing number of free-ranging domestic dogs present a serious threat to local people, their livestock and wildlife. Irresponsible feeding is not the solution -- provide them shelter.
LONG THREAD: Since 1987, India has assessed its forest cover every two years in its India State of Forest Reports (ISFR), produced by the Forest Survey of India (FSI). The 17th ISFR was released three days ago.
Here I take a closer look at the entire stack of ISFR reports…
Pathetic service by @DTDCIndia , they have been unable to deliver a record player from Mumbai to goa in ten days. Each time I call, they raise a 'complaint' and 'escalate' the call. No sign of the delivery! Are they waiting to put it onto Santa's sledge!
