As the Chairman of the Osun State Sports Trust Fund, Davido was given an opportunity to directly impact the lives of Osun youths with capacity to touch over 50,000 people by harnessing the value chain and attracting needed resources and investments.

The assignment was simple; Raise about ₦2 billion in investment counterpart funds to transform the state's sporting landscape.

Since then, not even the only sport project in the state(the Osogbo City Stadium) has seen any major improvement other than the usual monthly recycled pictures of its renovations.

Same applies to the one in charge of LG affairs who is also a family member of the governor.

That sums up the level at which nepotism has eaten up the development that should have happened in many sectors in Osun over the past three years.

Many states have moved forward very quickly with their plans to domesticate the Electricity Act to commence the generation, transmission and distribution of electricity locally. None of Adeleke’s supporters can point to the significant progress recorded in that aspect so far.

What of investments?

What of MSME development?

What of technical skills development?

What of job creation?

What of fiscal efficiency?

What is Osun Masterplan that they are sticking to in the last three years?

This state cannot continue like this and Saturday is an opportunity to change the fortunes once again!

🚨 Those who claim Nigeria cannot defeat banditry should pay attention to what just happened in Katsina.

When intelligence is matched with courage, criminals lose their greatest advantage.

In an intelligence driven operation, the DSS, working alongside community vigilantes and specially trained hunters, reportedly dismantled a deadly reprisal mission led by notorious bandit kingpin Idi Abasu Aiki. Instead of terrorising innocent communities, the attackers ran into a carefully prepared security response.

The reported outcome speaks for itself. Over 60 suspected bandits were neutralised, including Idi Abasu Aiki and 14 of his top commanders. While the nation celebrates this major security success, we must also honour the four brave vigilantes and hunters who paid the ultimate price defending their communities. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten. 🫡

This operation reinforces an important lesson. Modern security is not won by firepower alone. It is won through superior intelligence, strong collaboration with local communities, and decisive action. 🎯

To those who say Nigeria is losing the fight against insecurity, this is another reminder that criminal networks are not invincible. One kingpin after another, their strongholds are being dismantled.

Fourteen Nigerians were kidnapped along the Lagos-Benin Expressway, but what happened afterwards is the part I think deserves serious attention.

At about 9:30pm on July 30, troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army were on routine patrol when intelligence reached them about the kidnapping in Ovia North East LGA of Edo State. They didn't wait until morning. They immediately moved after the kidnappers and followed their withdrawal route.

The pressure became too much for the criminals. They abandoned 11 of their victims and escaped into the surrounding forest.

But three people were still missing.

And this is the part I love so much. Our soldiers didn't say, "Well, we have rescued 11 out of 14." They didn't close the operation and celebrate what they had already achieved. The following day, July 31, they went back into that forest and continued searching for the remaining victims.

They combed the area until those remaining three people were found and rescued.

Just imagine what those families must have been going through throughout that night. Eleven families had received the news they desperately wanted, while three others were probably still waiting, praying and wondering where their loved ones were. Then came the news that the remaining three had also been found.

After medical assessment and preliminary debriefing, the Army confirmed that all 14 victims were in stable condition. They were reunited with their families or allowed to continue their respective journeys.

This is why timely intelligence from ordinary Nigerians matters so much. Somebody provided information, troops acted on it immediately, kidnappers were forced to run, and 14 Nigerians who could have remained in captivity are free today.

The criminals themselves are still being hunted, and I hope that part of the operation continues until they are apprehended.

Sometimes we read "14 kidnapped victims rescued" and scroll past it like it's just another headline. But those are 14 human beings. Fourteen families spared days, weeks or possibly months of uncertainty and fear.

Kudos to the troops of 4 Brigade Nigerian Army and Brigadier General Ahmed Balogun. Keep the pressure on these criminals. Every Nigerian rescued from captivity is a victory worth celebrating, and every forest denied to kidnappers makes our roads and communities a little safer. 🇳🇬
